Intro 01:48
Need the time to start again Start again
2.
Feeling like a bag of bones Drag me where you wanna go Spent the winter kicking stones Waiting for a plant to grow Not much time is left Not much time is left Sunflower yellow It's all you got Sunflower yellow Time to wake up Sunflower yellow The sun is out Need some time to clear my head Sleeping on a flower bed Not much time is left Not much time is left Sunflower yellow It's all you got Sunflower yellow Time to wake up Sunflower yellow The sun is out Never felt so dumb Staring at the sun Change your pupil size Like David Bowie's eyes Sunflower yellow It's all you got Sunflower yellow Time to wake up Sunflower yellow The sun is out The sun is out

Chew for You 04:41
Took all that they needed it seems Shaking like a leaf in the breeze God knows it was time for a new smile anyway Never should have looked back Never should have looked back Never should have looked back I want you to know I can chew for you I want you to know Took all that they needed it seems Shook me down God knows it was time for a new smile anyway Wouldn’t be the first time Wouldn’t be the first time Wouldn’t be the last time I want you to know I can chew for you I want you to know And not too far behind The shadow in your starry eyes Makes a shape I’ve never seen And I can barely breathe (Just wanted to breathe) I want you to know I can chew for you Chew for you (I want you to know)
4.
The cards are on the table I would, but I’m not able To play with these hands My shirts are always wrinkled For me it’s not so simple To think for myself I said I won’t forget you She said I wouldn’t let you Even if you tried The stars are all so low tonight The clouds are awful dull at night I think that I’ll just glow I know you’re steady now I know you’re heading out All those times that I saw All those quotes on the wall Never meant shit to me Corduroy pants that fit too small Take this piece and break it off Never meant shit to me Peel my scabs, one by one See my skin come undone Peel my scabs, one by one See my skin come undone Come undone I know you’re steady now Your eyes look heavy now All those times that I saw All those quotes on the wall Never meant shit to me Corduroy pants that fit too small Take this piece and break it off Never meant shit to me Peel my scabs, one by one See my skin come undone Peel my scabs, one by one See my skin come undone Feel my lungs collapse (Lungs collapse) See my veins detach (Veins detach) Keep my frame intact (Frame intact) Keep my brain
5.
Lemon Drop 02:47
Spend your quarter on a candy too sweet Never worth it once it melts through your teeth Try the flavor and spit it out in the sink When you saw me at the top of your street You would light up like a pinball machine We would glitter from all the sugar we’d eat You’re the flower in a painting I made In my thoughts when I was laying in bed Tear the petals and make a wish to myself Have a feeling that I’ve seen you around Is there a reason why you fade in and out? I’ve got a secret but I can’t say it out loud Dollar bill with your name written on it Thought you had it but it slipped out your pocket All this time on your hands with no one there to spend it with Things that happen can’t let them define you Always know I’ll be right there beside you Find some good in the things that always seem to bum you out Getting rained on Saw a rainbow Getting spaced out In our raincoats There’s a rain cloud And the drops fall down Thought of what I wanted to say “Never thought I’d see you again” But now you’re here and my mouth’s shut I’m just happy to know that you’ll be sticking around Spend your quarter on a candy too sweet Never worth it once it melts through your teeth Try the flavor and spit it out in the sink
6.
Ramune 02:30
Took a comb to part my hair "I'll be ready, just a minute" Had a sip of ramune Tied my shoelace, favorite T-shirt Ran outside, I nearly tripped Laughed about it, opened the car door When you heard I had a band Turned the volume up on the speakers And you watched my face turn red "Always weird to hear how my voice sounds" When we went to bed you said "I can't be here any longer" Then you kissed my head and left Slip-on sneaker, rubber gum sole Took a sip of ramune Bright blue label, codd neck bottle Marble clogs the final drop I can never get what I wanted
7.
Things that cross your mind Cross them out in time I can’t draw straight lines You say I’ll be fine I’ll be fine I’ve been having dreams I can’t remember them all Maybe for the best I’ve been seeing things Can’t comprehend them all Maybe I’ll just rest But if I rest this time, I’ll If I rest this time, I’ll sleep Roll on plastic spheres No one else is near Played me from the start Who broke Neil Young’s heart? I’ve been having dreams I can’t remember them all Maybe for the best I’ve been seeing things Can’t comprehend them all Maybe I’ll just rest But if I rest this time, I’ll If I rest this time, I’ll If I rest this time, I’ll If I rest this time, I’ll If I rest this time, I’ll Sleep
8.
Balloons 03:56
She said she wants it this way I wouldn’t mind if you stayed You left me with a toothache Won’t you take me back now True test of time is slowing my mind Can’t you bring me back down Tongue tied, twisted keeps me unkind Don’t you fake me out now True test of time is drowning my mind down to the wishing well, oh well In tune with things that you say Balloons keep floating your way Up where the air is too tight Wanted to be there tonight Pain brings us closer to the light Don’t you fake me out now True test of time is drowning my mind down to the wishing well, oh well Can you take me back now It’s been so long since I have found out Can you bring me back to the place where I grew up where we belong Can you take me back now You shot it, you shot my lungs out Can you take me back now Can you take me back now Give in, take back Don’t you say that Give in, take back Far out, so close Patterns don’t choke Far out, so close It’s you and me When I’m looking down It’s only me When you’re not around
9.
Why does it always take so long For me to say “I love you” Why do I feel like it’s my fault When I’m not around you Can’t be myself now that you’re gone There’s just something about you I take these things you say to heart So if you say “I love you” I could wait a while to turn the page And hold you on my shoulder blades Looking at you through a telescope lens I can see the way your beauty marks blend Constellations, hard to face it Maybe I won’t see them there again I kept those things that you forgot In the back of my mind’s eye I take these things you say to heart So if you say “I love you” I could wait a while to turn the page And hold you on my shoulder blades My head spins faster than the planets above your ceiling And I feel like I might crash My ears keep ringing from the sound of your heart beating And I hope this feeling lasts (Why did it have to be so hard?) Why did it have to be so hard For me to say “I want you” Why do I feel like it’s my fault When I’m not around you Why does it always take so long For me to say “I love you” Can’t be myself now that you’re gone There’s just something about you If it holds me down, I’ll stay in place The weight against my shoulder blades from you
10.
Stare at the moon ‘til you feel like you’ve been eaten alive Being confused is a fair enough reason to cry I haven’t smiled Showing teeth in quite a while I need to hide But I think I’ll stay here Nothing left to do but float around with you Nothing left to do but float around with you Float around A light next door in the yard that I can see from my room A sign of hope I’ll get my shit together sometime soon I haven’t cried Showing tears in quite a while I need to hide But I think I’ll stay here Nothing left to do but float around with you Nothing left to do but float around with you Float around I know you know the time and place I know you know I want to stay You know I know what’s yours is mine I know you know I blew your mind You know I know I blew your mind You know I know I blew your mind You know I know I blew your mind You know I know I blew your mind
11.
He’s been waiting patiently In the garden with flowers for me She’s been falling fast asleep Tripping on the clouds in her sheets All the stories untold are unraveling Figure out on your own what’s happening He’s been waiting patiently In the garden with flowers for me She’s been falling fast asleep Tripping on the clouds of her dreams All the thoughts in her head break away with the softness of lead All the nights that she spent holding hands with a friend of a friend But they’re just friends The story ends
12.
Comix 04:21
Spend some time reading comics Ones with all the colors on it The more you read the more you want it to be real life But it’s not how it works Spend your time chasing comets Ones with all the colors on ‘em The more you see the more you want it to be real life But it’s not how it works I’m reading faster than my mind can go And I feel like I might die if I don’t I’m reading faster than my eyes can go Cause I feel like I’ll explode if I don’t And I feel like I might die Spend my time reading comics Ones with all the colors on it The more I read the more I want it to be real life But it’s not how it works I’m reading faster than my mind can go And I feel like I might die if I don’t I’m reading faster than my eyes can go Cause I feel like I’ll explode if I don’t Cause I feel like I’ll explode I told you to read this couple thousand times before I hope you don’t mind I know you don’t need me, but maybe someday down the line Our hearts beat in time I’m reading faster than my mind can go (I don’t even mind, I don’t even mind) I’m reading faster than my eyes can go (I don’t even mind, I don’t even mind) I’m reading faster than my mind can go (I don’t even mind, I don’t even mind) I’m reading faster than my eyes can go (I don’t even mind) I don’t even mind

about

The songs on this album were written over the past few years and recorded in the summer of 2019 with Adam Cichocki. Each song reflects the emotions, experiences and growth that shaped who we are as musicians and individuals. This could not have been possible without Adam for his production and passion for music, Dana Gorab and Max Falvey of Beehive Collective for their endless support and knowledge, Alex LaVallee for his unique artistic vision and the countless people we’ve met throughout our journey that have inspired us to be the band that we are today. We are fully confident that it is the best and most mature version of HAGS you’ve heard yet ☄️
